motivation

Are you teaching a raw materials-related subject at the university? Are you interested in taking your teaching to a next level of interactivity and experience-based learning?

In our workshop on Digital Teaching Competencies, you will gain insights into current trends in digitization in the context of university teaching. Experience in our hands-on sessions the wide spectrum from simple digital solutions to sophisticated mixed reality (MR) systems. During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss with peers what challenges and opportunities you are currently facing and develop innovative solutions!

AIMS AND CONTENT OF THE WORKSHOP

  • Discussion of challenges and opportunities of digital tools in teaching
  • Introduction to Mixed Reality (MR) in teaching
  • Experiencing examples of MR-based teaching projects
  • Learning how to integrate different digital tools in one’s own teaching

GAINED COMPETENCES

  • Gained didactical competence to choose the right technology for a certain learning objective
  • Gained technical competence to handle and use MR technologies confidently
  • Gained basic methodological competence to identify and develop application areas of MR in their own teaching

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Participants are able to reflect on the current trends of digital tools in teaching
  • Participants are able to understand why and how MR is used in teaching
  • Participants are able to understand and evaluate when and why which media should be used in their own lectures
  • Participants have further developed and critically evaluated own ideas on how MR could be used in their lecture

Call for cost reimbursement

Participants from RIS countries and the academia/educational sector are eligible for cost reimbursement.

Calls for costs reimbursement are managed by three EIT RawMaterials RIS HUBs based on their outreach countries - participants can apply to the call governed by the HUB with outreach to their country. 

  • EIT RawMaterials HUB Adria - primary outreach countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia) and all other RIS countries. Participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania cost reimbursement will be subject to the case-specific evaluation. The "first-come-first-serve" principle will be applied until all the budget for cost reimbursement consumption. All details regarding the process are described in the call text. 
  • EIT RawMaterials HUB Košice - outreach countries Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine. More details regarding the call text are available here

Where we meet?

Location

The workshop will be held at the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG). which is located in the Bežigrad district. It is 10 minutes by car or 30 minutes walking distance from the city centre. 

It is also well connected by bus through routes 6, 8 and 11 (bus station "Stadion").

The closest airports:

The nearest airport is  Ljubljana airport, well connected to the main European cities. Zagreb airport is 1.5 hour drive from Ljubljana and Venice airport (with many direct flights) is 3-hour drive (shuttles to Ljubljana are available).
